By item we mean all items used by the Finder such as documents, applications, folders, control panels, …

Whether you are in the Finder, in an application (Open and Save dialogs) or in the Apple menu, PopupFolder is continuously active and lets you display the contents of all folders hierarchically.
To open an item, click the first folder containing the item and hold down the button without moving the mouse. PopupFolder displays the folder’s contents hierarchically. Drag the mouse to the item or to the subfolder containing the item. Once the item you wish to open is visible, drag the cursor onto its name and release the button: the item will now be opened instantly.
By default, all items in the submenus are displayed alphabetically and in the colors you previously assigned in the Label menu of the Finder. Folders are displayed in bold and aliases in italic. To change these formats, consult the Configuration chapter.
